Unique experiences
As well as regular guided tours and overnight stays, Sinai Park House hosts a variety of one-off events each year.
From Heritage Open Days events to exclusive tours and open-air theatre, there are many unique events that allow visitors to experience this extraordinary place.
Update: Owing to current building work on site, regrettably we won't be able to host the usual events of the past few years. However, tea and tours for private groups are still available.

Sinai Park House Heritage Open Day 2025/26
Join one of three tours taking place, when Sinai Park House opens its gates for Heritage Open Days.
As part of Heritage Open Day 2025/26 (pre-booked ticket required for tours only)
Join one of the three timed tours during the Heritage Open Day and learn about the ongoing project to restore Sinai for future generations to experience. Learn about the interesting characters that once occupied Sinai and see its medieval stone foundations.
Tours start at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm with gates closing at 4.30pm. Please arrive promptly for your tour as access to the site must be supervised at all times given the risks associated with the derelict part of the building. Max numbers per tour is 35. Pre-booked tickets essential.
Discover the Skills That Built Sinai Park House (no ticket required)
Learn about the traditional building skills and craftmanship that created Burton’s oldest building, Sinai Park House.
From the Romans, Medieval monks and English Civil War armies to English aristocracy – all have left their mark on Sinai and the surrounding land. Come and see demonstrations of the skills used to create this unique building, with an opportunity to have a go at stone masonry, wattle and daub and traditional brick bonds.
Due to active restoration work in 2025/26, there are only a handful of dates that Sinai will be open to the public.
See the healing springs and Chalybeate waters of the Lord’s Well, with its ferruginous salts of iron waters, and walk on a Scheduled Monument – Sinai’s moat!
Bring a picnic – there’s plenty of space for blankets and chairs and taking in the glorious surroundings of the parkland. Refreshments available in support of the Friends of Sinai Park House Trust.

Heritage Open Days - Celebrating Sinai's Heritage Apple Orchard
We’re teaming up with National Forest Adventure Farm to bring you a day of apple picking, pressing, Burton heritage, and barbeque!
Our route reconnects the historic lands of the Abbey Manor Farm with Sinai Park House, the historic hunting lodge of the Abbots of Burton. We will be running a park-and-ride option allowing visitors to park at the National Forest Adventure farm and get a tractor and trailer ride up to the Sinai orchards and the monk’s orchard.
The monk’s orchard was planted by the National Forest Company circa 1999 to establish a heritage variety apple and pear orchard. You’ll get the opportunity to chat to an apple identifier who will be able to tell you more. Please feel free to bring your own apples for identification!
There will be opportunities for apple picking and pressing, kids’ crafts, and a fascinating guided tour of Sinai Park House. You can then join us for a late summer barbeque (paid) in the beautiful grounds of Sinai Park House.
Walkers using the National Forest route can drop in at any time of the day for apple pressing, kids’ crafts, and barbeque, but please book a free-flow ticket online so we can cater for the correct numbers for the barbeque.
